Input and output signal adjustment

1. ADuC814 as a microcontroller

The analog inputs and outputs of the ADuC814 microcontroller are unipolar with a range of 0 to 2.5 V.

2. Unipolar inputs and outputs

If unipolar signals are employed in an application it is only necessary to ensure the voltage compatibility in order to connect them to ADuC814, i.e. to convert the input signal into the 0 to 2.5 V range.

3. Bipolar inputs and outputs

If bipolar signals are used in an application (e.g. in the -5 V to +5 V range), signal conversion according to Fig. 2 is necessary in order to connect them.

3.1. Input analog signal adjustment

For the conversion of a bipolar signal (e.g. in the range of ± 5 V) to a unipolar signal for the connection to the microcontroller input (0 to 2.5 V range) a recommended connection is described in Fig. 3. although others can be used.

3.2. Output analog signal adjustment

In order to convert the unipolar signal from the microcontroller's output to a bipolar signal (e.g. in the range of ± 5 V) a recommended connection is described in Fig. 4, although others can be used.
