Introductory Provisions

Little Pine Ltd and its branch Little Pine Ltd – odštěpný závod (together referred to here as “Little Pine”) is a manufacturer and supplier of microcontrollers. For this purpose it runs the website www.littlepine.co.uk to enable customers and potential customers to design their microcontroller and, as desired, purchase a microcontroller. In the frame of this, Little Pine collects and records Personal Data:

  • which were provided by the customer or potential customer in the course of setting up an account with or ordering products and / or services from Little Pine Ltd; and
  • for the purpose(s) listed below.

Little Pine processes the data for the following purposes:

  • performance of a contract and provision of services;
  • compliance with legal obligations (especially accounting, tax and archiving);
  • protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the controller; Little Pine is a controller of Personal Data. Personal data in the scope of name and surname, address of residence or delivery address, or the registration number of and the tax identification number of a sole trader are part of the accounting documents that are transferred to an external accountancy firm. The external accountancy firm complies with EU Regulation No. 2016/679 and processes accounting documents for accounting, tax and archiving purposes only. Only the administrator and, in part, the processor (accountant) have access to the processed Personal Data. A contract is signed with the processor to protect the personal data and to prevent their abuse.

Personal data is stored on Microsoft’s Azure cloud (‘server’) which operates in compliance with European standards of data protection.

Personal Data (data that is attributable to a specific individual) that we hold on all account holders and customers who have bought from us previously includes:

  • Name
  • Billing address (if provided)
  • Delivery address (if provided)
  • Telephone number (if provided)
  • Email address
  • Sole trader registration number (if provided)
  • Sole trader tax identification number (if provided)
  • Buying history

Customer credit card numbers are never stored by us. We use a third party processor, Cardstream Limited who are subject to stringent security policies, to process all payments on the website. Saved credit card information is stored with them, rather than in our own electronic records. We ask customers never to provide us with their credit card number via email or phone, but to purchase securely through the website.

Customer Registration

In order to purchase products and related services through our site, we require you to create an account. This asks you to provide us with essential personal information such as your title, name and your email address.

Making a Purchase

All payments made on the website require us to take additional details from you including a delivery name and address, credit card details and a corresponding billing address. In order to process the payment for your product(s) and delivery we share your name, address and card details with our card processing partner Cardstream Limited.

If you choose to save your card details to make checkout easier in the future, these will be stored securely with our partner.

Arranging Delivery

If you purchase product(s), the delivery name and address and sometimes your contact number will be provided to a third party courier company for the sole purpose of delivering the specific purchased product(s).

Your address may also be visible on the shipping labels to employees of the producer from which you have ordered the products.

We have contracted assurances that our partners (producers and couriers) agree to not use this information for any other purpose, either in connection with such shipment(s) or separately from such shipment(s). The partners also agree not to separately contact you at any time for any reason. We may use various reputable courier businesses to get your delivery to you in the fastest and most efficient way and you consent to your Delivery Name, Address and Phone Number being shared with our chosen courier party.

Sending Info over Email

We ask customers to maintain their personal information in their account online, however should the need arise to send us information over email, for example if you need to change an order , you consent to us also storing this information in our email servers. Please do not send us personal information over email except where required or requested.

Automatic Logging of Session Data

Generic information about your computer's connection to the Internet, called "session data", will automatically be logged. This information is anonymous and cannot be used to track your personal information. Session data consists of things such as IP address, operating system and type of browser software being used and the activities conducted by the user while on our site. An IP address is a number that enables computers attached to the Internet, such as our web servers, to know where to send data back to the user, such as the pages of the site the user wishes to view. We do not collect our session data.

A cookie is a small file of information that is automatically stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive when you enter our web site. Requesting, Updating or Deleting your Information

You can view the majority of information that we hold on your in the User section of the website once you have logged in. Your personal details there can be updated at any time, except for the sales information such as prior delivery addresses and order histories.

Our Security Precautions

Our web site has security features in place to protect against loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. All personal information you provide to Little Pine is transmitted using 256 bit Secure Server Software SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that allows your browser to automatically encrypt, or scramble, all of your personal data before you send it to us. It will not therefore be possible for your payment method data, name and address to be read as the information travels over the Internet. We also ask that you maintain the security of your account by not sharing your password with any third parties and ensuring it is secret and suitably complex.
